Exercices football U10
It is vital for players at the U10 level to continue with the fundamentals of ball control, passing, receiving and shooting.
U10 soccer drills should emphasize these skills without getting very complex or requiring a lot of passes.
In order to keep the drills flowing try to use drills that require a maximum of 2 passes.
When games are incorporated they should be small sided 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, or 3 vs. 3.
Players can begin to learn how to attack and work with one or two other players but they will typically not comprehend how to work in a group of more than three players.
It is also important to nurture the love of the game by introducing small sided games that excites players and also gives them a lot of touches and opportunities to hone their ball skills.
The exercise or training must be fun in the here and now.
Even if you think the exercise is important for the kids' footballing future: if it's not fun, it's a waste.
Experience belonging, autonomy & competence.
Children want to be part of the group.
They want to be perceived as an important part of the training and not have everything dictated to them from above.
Children in the U10/U11 youth team need freedom!
They should be allowed to make mistakes in training and want to try things out!
Children want exciting tasks.
Passing from A to B to C is not a task that a child wants to solve in U10/U11 training.
Scoring a goal in a 3v2, dribbling around the opponent or knocking down cones is.
This way, the kids are more motivated to carry out the task and they get direct feedback on whether their mental and motor skills were appropriate.
Was the activity unsuccessful?
Then the children can adapt their solution and execution.
Or you can help them with your coaching.
